AACE Prescription Affordability Resource Center

Find programs to assist in the affordability of endocrine-related medications.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., November 30, 2021 -- The American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE), a professional community of health care providers specializing in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolic disorders, presents an updated prescription help platform – a directory of prescription affordability programs and resources for endocrine patients to help them acquire the medications they need at reduced out-of-pocket costs.

The cost of healthcare in the United States, particularly the cost of prescription medication, continues to be a subject of conversation and concern to many Americans. One of the most significant healthcare issues facing the American public today is access to and affordability of prescription medication. Most pharmaceutical companies that serve patients with endocrine and metabolic diseases/conditions have programs designed to help patients reduce out-of-pocket costs for prescription medications and devices. However, many patients and their healthcare teams are not aware of these prescription affordability programs or know where to look for them. Each pharmaceutical company, or often each individual product has a unique program and procedure for applying for assistance. With so many products and manufacturers, this wide-ranging catalogue of programs across the endocrine medicine landscape has made it confusing and difficult for patients and their caregivers to find the appropriate access to affordability programs.

AACE has updated their online prescription help resource center to not only include all endocrinology-based prescription medication assistance and affordability programs, but to make it even easier for patients to search by drug name or manufacturer. The platform links directly with affordability programs, patient advocacy groups, and other sources designed to help patients find and access their medicines. The platform also provides a listing of insulin manufacturers’ crucial affordability programs and information about the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) low-cost insulin alternatives for seniors.

AACE’s Prescription Help interface has proven to be a valuable tool for endocrine patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. Visit the easy-to-navigate platform at aace.com/prescription-help to search for drug manufacturers’ existing affordability programs and connect with patient advocacy groups.
