Corporate AACE Partners (CAP)

The Corporate AACE Partnership (CAP) is a forum whose purpose is to develop an open dialogue between industry and foster the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) Board of Directors in the furtherance of patient care. This includes heightened awareness for the appropriate treatment of endocrine disorders and the development of strategies to direct clinical endocrinology and patient care into the future. The mission of the CAP is to facilitate the improvement of endocrine patient care by working with industry in areas of mutual interest, including public health policy and endocrine-related educational programs and initiatives. In the changing face of healthcare, it is important to build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with industry partners. CAP meetings offer industry representatives a platform to discuss important issues and the opportunity to interact with physicians one-on-one to better establish these commonalities of interest. To further demonstrate the value of industry partnerships with the Association, AACE offers the first opportunities to support initiatives of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) and the American College of Endocrinology (ACE) to CAP members. AACE is dedicated to improving patient care in the field of endocrinology and is committed to enhancing its members’ ability to provide the highest quality of care.

HISTORY OF CAP

In May 1993, eight pioneering companies met with the AACE Executive Committee to identify common interests. Originally named the Corporate Advisory Board (CAB), this group forged what is recognized by many as one of the most unique relationships between a medical association and its corporate partners. In 2003, CAB was changed to the Corporate AACE Partnership (CAP) in order to display, in name and by actions, AACE’s commitment to working collaboratively with its industry partners in developing educational initiatives and programs of mutual benefit to each group. Since its inception over 15 years ago, CAP has grown to more than 35 industry partners.
