The Graves' Disease Foundation (GDF) is the only health agency dedicated to finding the cause and cure of Graves' disease & thyroid-related diseases. GDF was founded in 1990 as a 501-C3, non-profit charitable organization. The Foundation has helped thousands of patients better understand the symptoms and treatment programs for Graves' disease. The Foundation provides patient services, public education, professional education, and research. Its patient programs include a toll-free hotline: 877.643.3123 that provides individual counseling, a website: http://www.NGDF.org, and bulletin board where anyone can ask questions about thyroid disease. The Graves' Disease Foundation offers support groups that provide educational, psychological and emotional assistance to patients and family members for individuals afflicted with Graves' disease and other thyroid-related illnesses. It is the leading source of help and hope for Graves’ disease!
International Chair on Cardiometabolic Risk Who is the ICCR? International and multidisciplinary, the ICCR was founded in December 2005 as a direct response to soaring rates of abdominal obesity and related cardiometabolic risk. It brings together board members with such diverse research backgrounds as cardiology, lipids, nutrition, lifestyle, hypertension, diabetes, abdominal obesity, and basic science. The ICR is an academic organization affiliated with Université Laval in Canada, with executive and management offices located at the Centre de recherche del’Institut universitaire de cardiologie et de pneumologie de Québec. Its goal? To stimulate and promote scientific research and education on abdominal obesity and type 2 diabetes, and on the evaluation and management of patients at increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
ASEPA - American Society of Endocrine Physician Assistants ASEPA is the official constituent chapter of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) representing PAs in the specialty of Endocrinology. The organization was founded by three Endocrine PAs in 1999. In 2000, ASEPA was awarded formal recognition as a specialty chapter of the AAPA and gained non-profit organization status. We are dedicated to the education, advancement, and placement of PAs in the field of Endocrinology. This will further provide enhanced accessibility to quality care with the current and future projected nationwide shortages of board certified Endocrinologists. Additionally, ASEPA will continue to establish alliances with endocrine-related organizations to strengthen the PA / Endocrinologist team.
American Academy of Professional Coders The American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) provides certified credentials to medical coders in physician offices, hospital outpatient facilities, ambulatory surgical centers and in payer organizations. All members of AAPC agree to a Code of Ethics that ensures high levels of professionalism, integrity and ethical behavior. The three certifications (CPC(tm), CPC-H(tm), and CPC-P(tm)) are the gold standard certification for medical coding.

ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors’ Association, Inc. Is an all-volunteer, non-profit service organization advised by nationally recognized thyroid cancer specialists. We are dedicated to support, education, and communication for thyroid cancer survivors and their families. We offer an award-winning web site, Internet discussion groups, person-to-person support, local support groups, a newsletter, and annual conferences.
The Endocrine Society A very appealing endocrine information site. Pleasing to the eye, fairly new but promising a lot of content in the near future including TES's outstanding publications.
The European Federation of Endocrine Societies Is a non-profit organization established to promote endocrinology in Europe. Its major objectives are to promote communication between all who are interested in endocrinology and to advance research and education in endocrinology.
Women in Endocrinology A fast site with a few small, tasteful graphics and heavy on the the information. Not much clinical content here yet; but it appears to be well under way. This organization is dedicated to helping women pursue multi-level careers in endocrinology.
Nursing Resources on the Internet Choosing any career can be a a life changing decision. Understanding the skills and education needed is an essential element in researching a career. A career in nursing is more than wearing blue smocks and taking temperatures. There are several specialized fields to choose from, each with their own set of requirements. American Thyroid Association The American Thyroid Association ventures onto the web! An excellent resource for information on thyroid conditions with many brochures and a membership directory is in the works. Other points of interest include the newsletter and journal published by ATA as well as CPT codes for thyroid specialists.
American Diabetes Association The American Diabetes Association has a first rate site including an index of new content that saves new visitors having to hunt the whole site for the latest information. Features include the Diabetes Advocate the advocacy newsletter of the ADA, a test for potential Diabetes patients, a Diabetes information center, and a comprehensive directory of ADA offices organized by state.
The MAGIC Foundation Established in 1989 by five families of children with growth disorders. MAGIC began as a vision of these families that became a reality. MAGIC has grown with our children from a kitchen table; to a spare bedroom; to the leading organization of growth disorders in this country!!
