Electronic Prescribing (eRx) and PQRS (Physician Quality Reporting System) Updates for 2013

March 20, 2013
12:00 -1:30 ET

The Medicare Electronic Prescribing (eRx) Incentive Program, which began January 1, 2009 and is authorized under the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008 (MIPPA), provides incentives for eligible professionals who are successful electronic prescribers. (View Details Here)

The Physician Quality Reporting System (Physician Quality Reporting) is a voluntary reporting program that provides an incentive payment to identified eligible professionals who satisfactorily report data on quality measures for covered Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) services furnished to Medicare Part B Fee-for-Service (FFS) beneficiaries (includes Railroad Retirement Board and Medicare Secondary Payer). (View Details Here)
Physicians who are successful e-prescribers and report their quality measures can earn an incentive payment of 0.5 percent of their total Medicare Part B allowable charges for each incentive program.

The purpose of this Webinar is to provide the physician and their office staff with updated information on how to participate in this program and qualify for these incentive payments. This webinar will be interactive and give participants the opportunity to ask the presenter questions pertaining to the topic.

As Medicare providers, eligible professionals must report quality measures and must successfully electronically prescribe. If eligible professionals are not educated on the requirements, Medicare reimbursements will be reduced.
