Richard A. Dickey, M.D., F.A.C.P., F.A.C.E.
AACE President

Richard A. Dickey, M.D., F.A.C.P., F.A.C.E., is president of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE). He is currently in private practice and is part of the consulting staff at Frye Regional Medical Center and Catawba Memorial Hospital in Hickory, North Carolina. Dr. Dickey is also a clinical instructor of the Department of Internal Medicine (Endocrinology) at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Dr. Dickey's career includes clinical research and commentary on the treatment of endocrine disorders and his work has been published in numerous medical journals such as The Endocrinologist, New England Journal of Medicine, and Endocrine Practice. Dr. Dickey is the co-editor of The First Messenger and associate editor of Endocrine Practice.

An expert and frequent speaker on the reimbursement and coding of medical services, Dr. Dickey is also an active member of the Bristol-Myers Squibb Diabetes Educational Faculty and the Lilly Lecture Bureau. He has served as an integrated communications speaker for Novartis Pharmaceuticals and part of the Novo-Nordisk Speakers Bureau.

Furthermore, Dr. Dickey is an active member of many prestigious medical organizations such as the American College of Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine, The Endocrine Society, Sigma Xi, the National Osteoporosis Foundation and the American Medical Association. Dr. Dickey is a fellow of the American College of Endocrinology and the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Dickey received his undergraduate degree at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio and his medical degree at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. He completed his internal medicine residency and a fellowship in endocrinology at the Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana and the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, Connecticut.
