2005 PCOS Public Awareness Campaign
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) affects an estimated 10% of reproductive-age women in the United States. Not only is PCOS the leading cause of female infertility, it also puts women at greatest risk for insulin resistance syndrome, diabetes, certain cancers, and heart disease. It is AACE’s mission to help identify these women and alert them and their health care providers about the serious but treatable disorder they face.
