Physicians are increasingly aware of the need to obtain practice management skills, or employ those with equal or expert qualifications, that will assist them in achieving optimal reimbursement for medical services provided to their patients. The AACE Fundamentals of Endocrine Coding Course is designed to assist clinical endocrinologists in maintaining the highest level of professional coding and billing integrity in order to directly address these issues.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Select ICD-9 code(s) to their highest level of specificity and their relationship to procedural codes, based on chart documentation
- Format of the CPT and HCPCS books and select the most specific code for the service(s) or procedure(s) documented
- Address procedures found in the medicine section of the CPT book
- Understand the methodology of billing commonly performed endocrine procedures including DXA, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, laboratory, CGM, education, Fine Needle Aspirations, as well as drugs and injections

One day (seven hours) focused class.
