The AACE Endocrine Coding Webinar is designed for the physician, biller, or coder seeking to further their education related to coding, documentation and billing. In this webinar you will learn how to:
- Secondary diabetes codes have a new category. Learn how to keep sequencing accurate.
- Understanding how to correctly select Secondary Diabetes ICD-9 code(s) to their highest level of specificity and their relationship to procedural codes, based on chart documentation.
- Understand the methodology of billing the new secondary diabetes codes.

As the Director of Socioeconomics and Member Advocacy since March 2007, Melissa has 15 years of solid experience in the areas of coding, chart auditing, A/R management and practice operations. She has experience in nursing education, compliance, as well as Medicare and third party payor appeals. She holds a certification in coding from the American Academy of Professional Coders, as well as her Physician Chart Auditing certification. In her career, Melissa has audited thousands of records, facilitated coding seminars, and conducted many educational coding courses.
As the Director of Socioeconomics and Member Advocacy, she coordinates activities of coding, healthcare financing and third party reimbursement regulation, and other factors which affect the practice of clinical endocrinology on behalf of AACE. Melissa coordinates all updates pertaining to the publication of the AACE Endocrine Coding Manual with the Socioeconomics and Member Advocacy Committee. She is an active staff participant on several task force committees at AACE and will interact frequently with association members.
