2009 AACE Red Flag Rules Webinar

The Red Flag Rules are in Effect August 1, 2009: Is Your Practice Prepared?

July 15, 2009, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Eastern Time
July 22, 2009, 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm Eastern Time

The AACE Red Flag Rules Webinar is designed for the physician and office staff to provide mandated education related to implementation of the Red Flag Rules.

The Red Flag Rules are in Effect August 1, 2009: Is Your Practice Prepared?

  • Is your practice missing the necessary steps to mitigate potential loss?
  • Have you considered Compliance Training, but questioned the high costs?
  • Do you want to train your Staff, but lack adequate time or resources?

According to the US Federal Trade Commission: "Medical Providers are creditors under the Red Flag Rule, your business or organization is a "creditor" if you regularly:

  • extend, renew, or continue credit;
  • arrange for someone else to extend, renew, or continue credit; or
  • are the assignee of a creditor who is involved in the decision to extend, renew, or continue credit.

Under the Rule, "credit" means an arrangement by which you defer payment of debts or accept deferred payments for the purchase of property or services. In other words, payment is made after the product was sold or the service was rendered. Even if you’re a non-profit or government agency, you still may be a creditor if you accept deferred payments for goods or services."

Frequently Asked Coding Questions

Correct coding is one of the most important, and often most frustrating, aspects of successfully operating a practice in endocrinology.
